The Deer hide is located in Dunfallandy forest on the outskirts of Pitlochry, the gateway to the Scottish Highlands. The project was commissioned by the Laird (landowner) who wanted to create a hide in their forest to monitor deer numbers.
The hide was constructed from wind fallen trees found on site (Larch and Scots Pine) to protect the forest and its inhabitants. The upright posts were scorched to protect them from rot and were placed on stones to avoid digging and damaging the ground.
A camouflage net will be draped over the Deck to complete the hide.
